Parse complete international numbers
Validate the plus-prefixed value, store it in phone_e164, and mark normalization_source as supplied_international.
Community phone lists often mix plus-prefixed numbers, national formats, and rows with no country context. This page shows how to isolate those problems before running a bulk KuCoin registration-signal check.
Use it for phone-led community or reward records when the source country is known or the number is already in international format.

If a file combines several regions, a single default country can turn valid local numbers into incorrect international ones. Record how each lookup value was produced.
Validate the plus-prefixed value, store it in phone_e164, and mark normalization_source as supplied_international.
For a national-format number, use a reliable country field and record that field as the source of the conversion.
A local number without country evidence belongs in country-review.csv. Checking a guessed number creates a confident-looking but unusable result.
The normalization_status field tells the receiving team why a phone was converted, held, or sent for a KuCoin check.
| record_id | source_phone | country_evidence | KuCoin status | normalization_status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| KCN-038 | +1 202 555 0138 | Number includes +1 | Matched | supplied-international |
| KCN-041 | 07700 900321 | Form country: GB | Unmatched | converted-from-GB |
| KCN-052 | 202 555 0188 | Missing | Not checked | needs-country |
Rows and phone numbers are illustrative. A local “Not checked” row prevents an input problem from being confused with an exchange result.
The central operator can process complete numbers while regional owners fix ambiguous rows. That division is faster and safer than applying one global assumption.
Submit phone_e164 values that passed parsing and retain the normalization source with the task.
Send the original number and source ID to the team that collected it. Do not send an invented international value.
A well-formatted phone can still return an uncertain status. That is a lookup-review issue, not a formatting issue.
Matched and unmatched rows should move according to a written community or reward rule, with an appeal path where appropriate.
The reference price shown is $7 per 10,000 checks. First count the rows with a valid international lookup value. Confirm the current price in the app and retain the rejected-format total in your report.
